Thanks for taking the time to check out our music.

A little back story:

I moved to the Twin Cities, Minneapolis/St. Paul area in 1986 with the singular purpose of earning a living as a bass player. As fate will have it I have been fortunate to do just that to this date. That journey has led me down many, many musical paths playing any kind of music you can imagine, (and some I cant).

For me though it has never been enough to just make money with my instrument in any context but to be artistically expressive and push myself as a player and writer. To this end The Galactic Cowboy Orchestra was born in 2008. I was playing in, of all things, a Sun Records tribute band with Dan Neale (guitar for GCO) when the genesis of this band was formed spurred on by the legacy of bands like Mahavishnu orchestra and The Dixie Dregs. Its mission statement  was to write, record and perform music that was at times technically challenging but spiritually uplifting at the same time.

This spiritual component is what has driven us to push ourselves physically and emotionally in the last 11 years though thick and thin. The constant desire to reach for that magical musical moment and share that with the listener, whether in a live performance or on a recording. We have been been fortunate to have our work validated by Downbeat (2 nominations); performances with Symphony Orchestras and an Arts Tour Grant from the State of Minnesota. The accolades are wonderful but the reason I look forward to playing with this band is the uplifting of our collective energies through a common musical expression. I hope you get some sense of that from our recorded work.

Thanks again for taking the time to put some of your energy into listening.
