FAQs

as told by Lisi Wright

Why are you repressing this to color now?

We released zombie mouth in March 2014. It was our 3rd studio album and our first to bring vocals into the GCO sound. It was originally funded by fans through Pledge Music, which allowed us to print CDs and our first run of vinyl (plus some very cool t-shirts!).

Just a few months ago, we sold our last of those fan-funded vinyls. Time for a repress and this time it HAD to be color. The cover is begging for it!

What if I ordered the presale? Do I get these add-ons?

Yes! We’ll be updating the digital package and will include appropriate add-ons for your purchase. Shipping costs will be refunded as well. We didn’t know what we were going to do for the release back when we were doing this presale.

If you want to upgrade your order, let us know!

How did the zombie mouth artwork come to life?

That cover was my brainchild, as they all are, that was brought to life by makeup artist, Theo Nyugen, and photographer (and my HS friend - he’s the man behind all our wacky short films), Zach Nichols. It started out with makeup and hair at the salon, but I begged Theo to come to the photoshoot and do something crazy. He grabbed some acrylics, just in case, and off we went to Zach’s studio in downtown Mpls. We started with red lips and he just kept layering. Finally, we ended up with the multi-colored, cracking acrylic painted lips. I freaking LOVE this cover! We included a zip of behind-the-scenes album art photos in the “Digital Art Archive” zip file so you can see the progression for yourself.

What about the title?…

Our original drummer, Mark O’Day, used to call me zombie mouth. Haha! Yes, that’s why he’s no longer in the band, but we got a good album out of it! I kid, I kid, I joke with you. Let’s be honest, I do have a rather overwhelming smile and Mark, being the funny man that he was (and still is), jokingly shuddered at my smile one time and said, “Get your zombie mouth away from me.” And the rest is history.

So Mark is in the zombie mouth era promo photo?

I just love that curious spark of yours… never lose that.

Fun fact: zombie mouth features first drummer, Mark O’Day. However, by the time we released the album, second drummer, Billy Thommes, was in the band. SO, the promo photo you get with your order includes Billy because that was the promo photo we were using at that time. Tricky, amiright?

We are now playing with Nathan Fryett (lucky #6), so your signed promo photo will have 3 signatures. No more, no less. 3 shall be the number of signatures and the number of signatures shall be 3… 4 IS RIGHT OUT!
